SOUTH GULF COVE, FL COMMUNITY PROFILE

If you wish to do what you dream. The bold, distinctive, tropical Florida landscapes of South Gulf Cove Florida will provide you the wide open spaces where you can still find or build an affordable waterfront home to your grandest designs.

South Gulf Cove is located in the private and low key northeastern portion of the Cape Haze Peninsula along Gasparilla Drive (CR 771). Four distinctive entranceway signs at the main thru streets of San Domingo Blvd., Ingraham Blvd., Keystone Blvd. and Appleton Blvd. welcome you and when followed quickly take you deep into this community and you can immediately take in some gorgeous modern Florida homes and tropical landscaping.

South Gulf Cove has 126 navigable canals totaling approximately 55 miles. The waterways make up nearly 1/3 of ALL the canals in Charlotte County. The canals have made South Gulf Cove an island connected by four bridges. The Interceptor Lagoon leads to a lock providing access to the Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico with nearby beach-blessed barrier islands like Boca Grande, Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key, Sanibel and Captiva.

South Gulf Cove is a fisherman's and boaters’ paradise. A public boat ramp is present in the community at 10150 Amicola Street, just off Appleton Blvd., it has several additional amenities, such as a picnic pavilion, picnicking/picnic tables, playground and restrooms. The Butterford Waterway Park at 13555 Marathon Blvd (Village of Holiday Lakes) has a boat ramp which provides access to the waterways of South Gulf Cove as well.

South Gulf Cove is a unique deed restricted waterfront community built on approximately 6,200 acres with approximately 15,000 deeded lots, of which 4,734 are waterfront. The community has over 149 miles of roads within its borders.

South Gulf Cove as of 2012 is only at 10% build-out, with around 2000 homes and a little less than 5000 residents, the size of a quaint seashorr town. Home sites may be waterfront or not (dry-lots). The waterfront sites may have sea-walls or a natural canal frontage.
